Chroma grew up in Audiari city, the popular homeplace of the Sonicori species. Being a Sonicori, Chroma was given high-end education and personalized training. They earned their bachelor's degree in biology when they turned 18, moved to Neoterra and interned at the Neoterra Forensic Services Unit for two years before becoming a full-time employee.

In their fourth year of working for NFSU, they were assigned to overlook the development of an art mural the unit wanted on their Services Center. Chroma met Prism, who was the selected artist for the mural. Although they were initially annoyed by the talkative artist, they warmed up to him and even found his work fascinating. The mural was completed in one month. Before Prism left, Chroma gave him their number and put in a good word of him to their boss.

During one of their rare days off, they visited the local cafe and met a human named Star. They continued to meet recurrently, becoming friends and then a couple. Chroma proposed to them one year after their relationship started.
